Well, well, as soon as news brought to us by Lordi show up on MB, it seems everybody is going berserk again xD What else could we have expected and why am I not surprised by it? xD
Quite some statements. The masks are finished, the photoshoot has taken place, the videoshoot too... and now, people are going all mad about it and don't know what to do and where to run rom their joy.
I am kind of sick of reading tons of the same statement by Mr. L on Facebook where it is posted by every second of the people I am friends with -.- Seriously, it is annoying. We read the statement on MB, then again, again and again, it seems the fans want the whole world to know about it -.-
However, there is fire breaking out again about the single which will not be released in tons of copies. I wonder for how long time the fans will go berserk about it this time. Not that I cared, I prefer waiting for the album itself not some lausy single I can't even get my hands on ( thank you very much, Sony Finland, for not noticing your neighbourhood country Latvia who is just over the sea; though maybe it's better, because we can be also sending you the internationally acknowledged sight of ''F*** You'' ). But here's a small advice for the artists - if you are so damn worried about money and how everybody downloads your songs illegally, MAYBE IT'S TIME TO PUT SOME COPY PROTECTION ON THE CDs? Why can't they do what Nena and other German artists are doing already since a long time? *insert  emoticon from dA here* Instead of doing something to protect their music, today's singers and bands are complaining how the evil pirates are stealing their music -.-
Another thing everybody seems to be crazy about is the qustion ''When are we gonna see the new masks?!'' People should really calm down and take some deep breaths now. The masks will be shown when it is time for them, not basing on how may people write in MB ''CAN'TWAITCAN'TWAITCAN'TWAITCAN'TWAIT'' etc. etc. -.- Personally I am not excited about them. I didn't like the Deadache masks much, the only mask I really like from this era, is Mr. L's 9 oh, and also OX's face, BUT ONLY THE FACE!!! ) so I do not put much attention to the fact there are new masks coming up. The time will show if they are good or bad or if they were worth waiting to be seen :P
I must be such a calm person that I almost seem like I wouldn't care. And in most cases, I do not care what happens, I just live and I see if it is for better or worse :P
Hmm, and it is, of course, good they have a new video coming up some day. And then I also have to laugh about people's comments. I wonder how much they really know about CGI. I liked the comment like ''oh, CGI is what they did in LotR, it would be really cool if the video would be made like that''. Personally I think that, if their budget is so tight they can't release a single in not just a ''Promo'' version, but in a version that would be available for everyone, they should stick to the good old video style, not some CGI, 'cause in most cases CGI costs a lot more than hiring actors and doing all that other stuff ( you still need actors for motion capture, then a CGI crew containing specialists of that theme etc. ).
And I doubt that it will be something big in the video. Probably just some blood and flames and so on. Because it is obvious that a simple band can't gather together a CGI crew from Eragon, LotR, Transformers and Avatar and say ''We want cool graphics'' ( the answer from crew would be like: ''Give us 100'000 $ and you'll get your graphics'' xD ), so I'd suggest the fans not to go crazy about it, it'll probably not be anything big at all :P
However, the time will show if I am wrong or right in this entry. It always does :)

For CGI that I didn't know what it was, cost depend of video, in their case, you should have some zombie, i mean much less effect than with Lotr then really not same prize, for promo they need at least one video for introduce album. Choice of how make it depend of label not band.
ReplyDeleteAbout rest yeah it's nice to have news and i good laught with imagine Amen but yeah i agree that the "can't wait......" is exagerated. We should see them some days before single like it always was the case. The date of single is giving and still some ask when like they don't read a shit. That they are begging or wait it should be the same.
And about single, a lot of single from Lordi weren't do in so many exemplar and it was no deal and now it is ? It's just 'cos here they know it in advance but deadache was also very less examplar, it don't change so much
And on facebook do like me, limitated the lordi fans :p I have some but not all, some add other only 'cos they are lordi fans, please 'cmon it ain't from someone is a lordi fans that this personne is nice. For example I had found you since a moment on FB but only add you when make me a opinion of you as people not as lordi fan
I agree with you about the CGI, and I also think the most we can expect is a zombie or two, nothing too fancy. I just feel amused when people hear the word ''CGI'' and imagine that Lordi could have something like in ''Lord of the Rings'' or ''Avatar'', so I feel a bit sorry for these people because it is obvious this wish will not come true at least for now xD
ReplyDeleteAs for the single, I do not think that ever before had they announced that they will not release a huge bunch of singles because of people who download it illegally ( and, if you ask me, they just make the people go crazy now; if they release it limited, people who do not get it ( *cough*...like me...*cough* )will download it anyway, so it will all come back on them again :P ). I already said, it gets annoying when the bands are whining, whining, whining that the Big Bad Pirates from Piratebay are stealing their music and letting everyone download it for free. At the same time, they don't do a shit to protect their CDs from copying them on a usual computer -.- I have some really good examples of copy protected albums at home, like German singer Nena's CD and some Latvian artists. Then a question appears why can't other artists do the same to their music? :S Because it is obvious they are a bit fault at the situation themselves.
On facebook, I have limited them to... *counts* 11 xD I only accept people I have talked to at least a few times, not every single one who shows up, so I have already turned down a lot of people :P There is no use in being a ''friend'', if you do not know anything about the other person, that is what I think :)
For single protection the artist don't have a shit to say, it's label who decide or not from protection
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah if it's for become like Metallica obseded by piracy when they have way more easy than some little band also trust my ex-hacker experience if you want you always can go over a protection, it's even a sort of game to put it off.
Lordi isn't totally against piracy, I repeat the now very know quote of L
I don't want hurt in any way the musical industry.
If you like album, buy it.
If you dislike it, delete it.
If you don't buy a album that you like, you kill music that you like.
And L don't say it's cos of people who download but 'cos difficulty musical industry have, it's very different.
I know band who are very downloaded and still buy very good but it's a fact that album sale better than single and that for every band. Except Lordi I never buy single of a band only album and I ain't only who do that, also for that music business invest less in single
